Impressions 2009 - Smile
*This post is my impression for the year 2009
This year was probably not what you expected. For some worse, for others better, like the lyrics to this song… But for all there were smiles.
A few years ago I told a friend of mine that I didn’t particularly enjoy slapstick comedy and her reply has stayed with me: “What? You don’t like to laugh?”. I’m sure she doesn’t remember but her response has echoed loudly throughout the past year.
As I witnessed many of those around me smile, despite very difficult circumstances, I felt humbled. And so, while in awe of their resilience and faith in life I decided to laugh for them and with them. I even enjoyed a few comedies!
I am truly grateful for those unexpected smiles. Although I don’t know what to expect in the coming year I am certain about one thing… I’ll see plenty of smiles!
